Back up Desktop, Documents, and Pictures with OneDrive

OneDrive can protect your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders automatically. When this is on, anything you save in those folders gets a copy online.

You'll see this whenSavedSafe says some of your main folders are not inside OneDrive.

Steps

  1. Click the cloud icon near the clock, then the gear icon, then Settings.
  2. Choose "Sync and backup", then "Manage backup".
  3. Turn on Desktop, Documents, and Pictures, then click "Save changes".
  4. Wait until your files show green check marks.
  5. Run SavedSafe again to make sure the problem is fixed.

Good to know

  • After OneDrive takes over these folders, an old copy of a folder is sometimes left behind. SavedSafe checks for that too.
Done? Run SavedSafe again. When everything is protected, the report turns green.
